Truth is stranger than fiction—and often more interesting! Documentary storytelling is in the midst of a renaissance that has been going strong for more than three decades. If you want to delve into nonfiction narratives by bringing a story you care about to the big screen, you’ve come to the right place! With affordable cameras, cellphones and so much more the tools to tell stories in Documentary form have never been more readily available.
DocOKC & Bishop McGuinness Present Documentary Filmmaking Bootcamp! This is a 2-day class followed by a month and half of production, editing and finalizing of a documentary. Students will have a chance to be a part of every process while simultaneously having the chance to direct, produce and edit their own 3-10 minute Micro-Doc. Students who complete their film within 2 days before our Festival will automatically be screened in our Student Block.
For the first year of this class, enrollment is only open to Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School students. Oklahoma is in the process of steadily growing its film industry and we want to help provide as many tools for the upcoming generation to ensure their success.
